Hello, I'm Maryam!

Hi, I'm Maryam Siddiqui, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I believe therapy is a collaborative space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, life transitions, parenthood, and health-related challenges. Using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, I help clients build self-awareness, develop practical coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. Together, we'll work toward helping you feel more confident, resilient, and connected to the life you want to live.

Let's work together

My Background and Values

Hi, I’m Maryam Siddiqui, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a background in medical sciences and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

My experiences in both healthcare and mental health have shaped the way I understand the connection between emotional, psychological, and physical well-being. I believe that each person’s experiences are unique, and that therapy should be a collaborative space where you feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment.

I strive to create a safe and compassionate environment where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, build on your existing strengths, and develop tools that support your well-being both inside and outside of therapy.

Who I Work With & What I Help With

I work with adults navigating a range of emotional, psychological, and life challenges. I have experience supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, life transitions, and health-related concerns.

I can support you with concerns such as:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress
  • Depression and low mood
  • Burnout and emotional exhaustion
  • Life transitions and adjustment
  • Parenthood and the challenges of balancing competing responsibilities
  • Health-related stress and emotional challenges
  • Trauma and difficult life experiences
  • Self-esteem and self-confidence
  • Emotional regulation and coping
  • Relationship and interpersonal challenges
  • Developing healthier habits and patterns

Whether you are experiencing a specific difficulty or simply feel that something in your life needs to change, therapy can provide an opportunity to pause, reflect, and move forward with greater clarity.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based therapeutic practices. I draw from approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care.

I tailor therapy to your individual needs, experiences, and goals rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we may explore patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, develop practical coping strategies, strengthen emotional regulation, or work toward greater self-awareness and acceptance.

My background in medical sciences also informs my understanding of the ways physical health, stress, and emotional well-being can intersect. I aim to consider the whole person when supporting clients, while creating space for your individual experiences and perspectives.

Most importantly, I believe therapy works best when we work together. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting. We can begin wherever you are and take things one step at a time.

Why Choose This Work With Me?

Starting therapy can be an important step, especially when you have been managing challenges on your own for a long time. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be honest about what you are experiencing without feeling judged or pressured.

My combined background in healthcare and counselling psychology allows me to bring both medical knowledge and psychological training to my work. I am particularly passionate about supporting people who are navigating the relationship between their mental health, physical health, responsibilities, and everyday lives.

I bring empathy, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to helping clients feel more confident and capable in navigating life's challenges. Together, we can work toward building practical skills, greater self-awareness, resilience, and a stronger connection to the life you want to live.

I provide therapy in English and Urdu and welcome the opportunity to support you wherever you are in your journey.
